Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: October 2026
When you buy something through a link on ProperFit, the retailer may pay us a commission. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes what we recommend. Your capsule is built from your build, taste and budget, not from who pays us.
How ProperFit makes money
ProperFit is free to use. To keep it that way, we participate in affiliate programs with select menswear retailers. When you click a "Shop" link on your capsule, in the Journal, or in our emails and then make a purchase, the retailer may pay us a small commission at no additional cost to you.
What this means in practice
- Links that can earn us a commission appear on your Style Matcher results, in Journal articles, and in our emails. Assume any link to a retailer is an affiliate link.
- Prices are identical whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly.
- Recommendations come first. Items are chosen for your archetype, build and budget before we check whether an affiliate program exists. If a piece we believe in has no program, we recommend it anyway.
- No retailer pays for placement. Retailers cannot buy their way into a capsule, and we do not accept compensation for positive coverage.
- Sponsored content, if we ever publish it, will be labeled clearly and separately from editorial recommendations.
Our affiliate relationships
ProperFit participates in affiliate and sub-affiliate programs, including those operated by Skimlinks and Sovrn Commerce, covering retailers featured in our capsules. We may also join retailer programs directly through networks such as Rakuten Advertising, CJ Affiliate, Awin or Impact. The current list of partner retailers changes as programs are added or retired.
